Outside space (2000 – present)
Although the work does indeed refer to landscapes, I prefer the name outside space.
The paintings are not painted at examples or observation. All outdoor spaces are imaginary. All images now – and ever – have been observed in the outdoor area are stored in the head and partly forgotten. For me as a painter, it is interesting how elusive images, slowly turns, from many layers paint, turns into a solid form. A renewed acquaintance with the outside space.
The visual memory of a moment is rarely sharp, clear or concrete. My memory image consists of numerous transparent moments. Superimposed. From this work I am distilling a new outdoor space. More or less nameable and recognizable.
A new outdoor space? Or was this all. A possible (re) seen reality. Whether it has now become the world inside my head.
